[00:00:03] Welcome to The Messy Mind podcast, a show to support you in seeing the messiness can lead to your life bulb moments on your host Tammy L. Davis Welcome to this episode and I'm so happy that you are here with me today

[00:00:22] And I'm going to dive into a topic that's deeply personal and a bit transformative And it is all about why I'm reading the Bible. Now this journey for me started when I got saved at the age of, while I was 27, I was in my 20s

[00:00:38] And it was such a pivotal moment in my life. I began attending church regularly, participating in Bible-city sessions, and really incorporating daily scripture reading into my routine But despite all of this over the years, I realized that I have never actually read the entire Bible

[00:01:01] And when I say read the Bible, I mean from Genesis all the way to Revelation. So now I'm older and you might be wondering, Well, why now? What has changed? Why has Tammy decided to read the Bible?

[00:01:16] And the answer really lives in my desire to align both my personal and business life according to God's will. Over the past two years or so, I have been feeling a strong pull to ensure that every aspect of my life reflects my faith and my values

[00:01:37] And I've embarked on a structured plan to read the Bible in its entirety, again, from Genesis to Revelation And I love this plan. It's a part of the U-version app that comes on my iPhone

[00:01:51] And this particular plan helps me stay accountable and ensures that I'm just not skimming the surface But truly understanding an internalizing God's word And let me tell you, at the time of this recording, I am on a hundred and eighty days

[00:02:10] So a little bit more than one-third, it's going to take me a year. So 365 days I'm on a hundred and eighty days, a little bit more than a third into the Bible and it is riveting

[00:02:23] If you want to know anything about life, how to operate, how to treat people, how to gain wealth, how to keep wealth, how to just show up in the world as a human being

[00:02:37] So many different topics, so many different elements, so many different aspects, really all of a life is contained in the Bible If you want to know anything, it is in the Bible and I'm still in the Old Testament

[00:02:55] And individuals were all for the chain every morning after we read I'm also doing the study plan with my husband. We have these conversations and we're just like shaking our heads Like, what do we just read?

[00:03:12] And I'm finding that I'm discovering more about God and how he operates and what his intentions for us are And what he wants for us and how much he loves us

[00:03:25] It's truly, it's only what I can say in this moment, transforming the way I see everything in my life Both personally and professionally It really is more than just reading, it's about letting the teachings that I'm discovering every single day

[00:03:44] Sheet my thoughts, my actions and my decisions throughout my entire life For me, it's not just a personal endeavor It's about bringing that alignment also into my professional life as well As a consultant, a small business owner and training change management and communication

[00:04:04] I want my work, I want when I show up for the people who I'm blessing up to serve that work to be a reflection of my faith And I believe that grounding myself in the Bible

[00:04:18] I can offer an even more genuine compassion and ethical guidance to my clients Now, I've always said that being in this implementation or enterprise resource planning or assistant transformation Business transformation world that we as consultants need to have a code of ethics

[00:04:38] And for me, this is my code of ethics I've always operated with integrity but reading the Bible is not just a religious duty for me It literally is serving as a transformantive process It's about finding wisdom and strength and clarity

[00:04:56] It's about understanding how to live a life that's pleasing to God and beneficial to those around me So again, why am I reading the Bible? It's a journey of faith, growth and alignment

[00:05:09] And I really hope by sharing this short, short insight as to why I'm reading the Bible That my story can maybe inspire you to consider how you can bring more of God's word into your own life Whether it's personal or professional

[00:05:26] Again, thank you so much for listening in today If you have any thoughts or questions about my specific journey What I'm reading and I'm actually going to put a link to the plan that I'm following in the show notes But please feel free to reach out to me
